Cross Country Red vs. Green All-Star Selection Process

Make up of Teams:  30 Boys & 30 Girls will be chosen based on time at the NMAA State Cross Country Championships.

Process as follows:

  1. Cross Country Coaches Must Nominate Seniors Prior to the State Cross Country Championships via This Link. Coaches, please talk to your athletes.  Please do not nominate anyone that is not committed to participating.  We will not choose alternates, so you hurt the event if your athlete is nominated and chosen doesn't show up.
  2. Times from the top 5 NOMINATED Seniors in class 5A, 4A, 3A, & 1A/2A. (Boys & Girls)
  3. The final 10 athletes will be the next top 10 times from NOMINATED Seniors across all classifications.(Boys & Girls)
  4. Coaches will be informed by email on Sunday, November 6th by 6:00 pm.
  5. Red and Green teams will be determined by arranging the times from 1-30.  Then, dividing the teams up equally based on the times.
  6. All 30 athletes will be a part of the score.  If athletes do not show, we will adjust on Friday of the event.
  7. Athletes & Coaches will have to register online for the within the following 3-4 days.  Cost is $200.  This is the same cost for all all-star athletes. The school, the booster club, the activity accounts should pay and not the athletes. Just like all other sports.  It is tough to make these events balance.
  8. Athletes report to Crowne Plaza, Albuquerque 1901 University Avenue, 87102 on Friday, November 11th at 3:00 pm.

Cross Country Red vs. Green Race
Date: Saturday, November 12, 2022
Location:  Cleveland High School
Fun Run: 9:30 am
Girls Red vs. Green Race: 10:15 am
Boys Red vs. Green Race: 10:45 am

Athletes will be chosen on Sunday, November 6th, 2022
Athletes will report on Friday, November 11th @ 3:00 pm at the Crowne Plaza Albuquerque

Athlete Instructions:

  1. Athletes must register online for the Event via the Red vs. Green All-Star Registration Link on this page.  Cost is $200.00.  Your high school program should pay for you.  You must register with a credit card or have the Coach contact Buster Mabrey and ask for a quote and registration code.
  2. Athletes report on Friday, November 11 @ 3:00 pm at Crowne Plaza, Albuquerque (1901 University Avenue, Albuquerque, NM 87102.)
  3. Athletes will be provided a singlet and a swag bag.  Athletes should bring black shorts.
  4. Athletes do not have to pay for the hotel and or food while at the event.  They will be responsible for their own transportation.  Rides can be found.  Athletes cannot ride with coaches.

3:45 pm Check into the hotel rooms

6:00 pm Team Dinners

Saturday, November 12th, 2022

7:00 am breakfast at the hotel .

8:00 - 8:30 am: Go to Cleveland and check out the course

9:30 am Fun Run

10:15 am: Girls Red vs. Green Race

10:45 am: Boys Red vs. Green Race

11:30 am: All-Star Meal in the Cafeteria at Cleveland
