Seven of New Mexico's Best Coaches were chosen by the National Federation of Schools (NFHS) as either a Sectional Coach of the Year and or a National Coach of the Year.

The NMHSCA, working with the NMAA, nominated coaches in all sports for the National Coach of the Year award.  The following coaches were Sectional Coach of the Year:

Swimming & Diving: Clinton Caldwell, Santa Fe Prep
