2008
Thomas Mabrey was chosen as the new Executive Director starting February 1st, 2008. The Coaches Association’s Board of Directors determined that the Association would be choosing All-State Teams. The first set of All-State teams chosen by the Coaches Association was the 2008 Volleyball and Football teams
The Coaches Association started producing and publishing the Top 10 polls in Football, volleyball, basketball, softball, and baseball.
2007
2007 - The Association reached a milestone in membership of 2,021 for the 2006-2007 membership year
The Association received a second year $25000 appropriation from the 2007 New Mexico State Legislation
The New Mexico Oil and Gas Association made a $5000 contribution to the Association as the title sponsor of the 20th Annual Awards Luncheon
The Association’s website (www.nmhsca.com) was completely redesigned and upgraded
Inaugural East vs. West 8-Man All-Star Football game in Ruidoso; this is the 17th All-Star game sponsored or co-sponsored by the Association
Bobby Gibbs, Executive Secretary/Treasurer announced his retirement to be effective February 28, 2008
2006
After over twenty five years, the annual Joe Zeni Steak Fry, held during the week of the Coaches Clinic, was moved from the UNM South Championship Golf Course, to the courtyard of the host hotel, the Albuquerque Hilton.
The NMHSCA received a $25000 appropriation from the 2006 New Mexico State Legislature
Through an arrangement with the NMAA, Assistant Directors Robert Zayas and Mark Koski, assumed some responsibilities of the Association to work with the Executive Secretary.
At the 19th Annual Awards Luncheon a power point presentation, highlighting many of the awardees, was inaugurated.
A handbook was produced relative to the policies and procedures and forms used in the selection of the various All-Star Teams for:
Ø The Chairmen of All-Star Games
Ø The NMAA District Chairman
The new Director of Athletics at the University of New Mexico, Paul Krebs, was the keynote speaker at the Coaches Clinic
The Association had a record membership of 1,990 in the 2005-2006 membership year.
2005
The NMHSCA and Executive Secretary hosted the annual meeting of the National Organization of Coaches Association Directors (NOCAD) in Albuquerque at the Old Town Sheraton Hotel.
The Association had a membership of 1,959 in the 2004-2005 membership year.
2004
The Girls A/AA and AAAA/AAAAA All-Star Basketball games were moved from Farmington to Gallup
The Board of Directors approves the New Mexico High School Volleyball Coaches Association as a branch coaches organization within the NMHSCA
2003
Inaugural North vs. South AAA All-Star Girls Basketball game, held in conjunction with the AAA Boys Basketball and Football games in Las Vegas.
2002
The bylaws of the NMHSCA were amended, where by the position of Executive Secretary/Treasurer was an appointment by the Board of Directors.
Jeanne Sategna became the first woman President of the NMHSCA
Inaugural North vs. South AAA All-Star Baseball games in Socorro
The Annual Coaches Training & Clinic and All-Star week was held in Las Cruces.
